NHL: Boston 6, New York Islanders 2

BOSTON, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Nathan Horton scored twice and added an assist Monday, sparking the Boston Bruins' 6-2 victory over the New York Islanders.

Horton's first goal, on a power play with 6 1/2 minutes left in the opening period, put Boston ahead to stay at 2-1 while his second tally, early in the final frame, gave the Bruins a 5-2 advantage.

Milan Lucic added a goal and an assist while David Krejci, Benoit Pouliot and Tyler Seguin scored for the Stanley Cup champs, who notched their their straight win following a three-game skid.

Tuukka Rask stopped 24-of-26 shots, including all 12 he saw in the second period while Boston was clinging to a 3-2 lead.

Evgeni Nabokov was chased after allowing three goals on 12 shots for the Islanders. He was replaced by Al Montoya, who stopped 22-of-24 shots the rest of the way.

Matt Moulson and Michael Grabner scored for New York.
