SHIMA, Japan, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Momoko Ueda defeated Shanshan Feng on the third hole of a sudden-death playoff and won the LPGA's Mizuno Classic in Japan.

Both players had pars on par-4 No. 18 at the end of regular to finish 54 holes at 16-under 200. They returned to 18 for the playoff with each making par two more times, forcing the day's fourth trip to the No. 18 tee.

On the third playoff hole, Feng's approach ended up 25 feet from the cup and she missed the birdie try. Ueda then made a 15-foot birdie putt to take the championship and winner's share of $180,000.

Feng took second, winning $109,523, after forcing the playoff with a 7-under-par 65 Sunday. Choi Na-Yeon fired an 8-under 64 to jump into third, one stroke off the pace set by Ueda and Feng while Catriona Matthew and Teresa Lu, who each shot a final round of 67, finished tied for fourth at 13-under.

Ueda had four birdies and a bogey in a fourth-round 69. Her second birdie -- at the ninth hole -- came after the drive hit a spectator in the head and bounced into the fairway. Other birdies are at Nos. 5, 10 and 16.

Feng had a bogey-free 65 Sunday, opening with back-to-back birdies, adding two more at Nos. 7 and 8. She had a third back-to-back set at 12 and 13 and tied Ueda with a birdie at 17.
