SHIMA, Japan, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Momoko Ueda closed her Saturday round with four consecutive birdies in taking the lead at the LPGA's Mizuno Classic in her native Japan.

Ueda posted a bogey-free 8-under-par 64 Saturday in moving to 13-under 131 after two rounds of the 54-hole tournament. Her countrywoman Sakura Yokomine had nine birdies in a round of 9-under 63 to jump into second at 10-under.

Shanshan Feng and Mina Harigae, who both shot 67 Saturday, and Mayu Hattori, another Japanese player, are tied for third at 9-under 135. Hattori had a second-round 66. I.K. Kim (68 Saturday), Teresa Lu (70) and Catriona Matthew (68) are tied for sixth, five strokes behind Ueda.

Ueda had birdies on the two par 5s on the front nine of the Kintetsu Kashikojima Country Club and was still 2-under after 10 holes. She added birdies at 11 and 13 -- another par 5.

A birdie at the 15th hole tied Ueda for the lead with Yokomine and a short birdie putt at the par-5 16th put her in first. Ueda added a 10-footer for birdie at 17 and chipped in for a 3 at the par-4 18th.
