BOSTON, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Investigators are studying security footage at the Boston nightclub where Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman allegedly assaulted a woman, a source says.

While a spokesman for the Boston Police Department would make no comment on the evidence, the Boston Herald cited police sources who said videotape from security cameras at the Storyville club could be critical. Edelman was arrested outside the club early Tuesday morning and charged with groping a young woman by sticking his hand under her Halloween costume and fondling her.

Edelman pleaded not guilty Tuesday and was released on his own recognizance. He made no comment on the case as he left.

"The charges will be fought vigorously within the court system, instead of a rush to judgment elsewhere," said Don Yee, Edelman's agent.

Edelman was at the party in a "Reno 9-1-1" police costume.
