
NEW YORK, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Outfielders Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays topped the list of Silver Slugger Award winners Wednesday.
The Louisville Silver Slugger Award is given to the top offensive performers at each position in each league.
Kemp took one of the three honors for National League outfielders, the second of his career, after batting .324 while knocking in a major-league best 126 runs and socking a league-leading 39 home runs.
Bautista was among the American League outfielder winners. The Blue Jays star won for a second straight year after pounding a major league-best 43 home runs.
Milwaukee's Ryan Braun took home his fourth straight NL outfield award, thanks to his .332 average with 33 homers and 111 RBI in 2011.
Boston Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez earned the award in his first season in the American League since 2005. He hit .338 with 27 home runs and 117 RBI this past season, while leading all of baseball with 213 hits.
