NEW TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Curtis Granderson hit a grand slam Tuesday in leading a Major League Baseball team to a 7-0 win over the Chinese Taipei national team.

Granderson's home run came in the third inning of a game shortened to six innings because of rain.

Baltimore's Jeremy Guthrie picked up the win after pitching the first three innings for the Americans.

The game was scoreless until Granderson's grand slam. Florida outfielder Logan Morrison singled and walks to Florida's Emilio Bonifacio and Los Angeles Angels shortstop Erick Aybar loaded the bases in the third inning.

Granderson, who led the major league with 41 home runs this season, followed with a shot over the right-field wall off Yao-Hsun Yang.

Bonifacio added a two-run single in the fourth and Washington infielder Michael Morse had an RBI base hit in the fifth.

The game was the first of a five-game 2011 Taiwan All-Star Series, pitting U.S. baseball all-stars against Chinese Taipei. The second game is scheduled for Thursday.
