TORONTO, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Phil Kessel's league-leading 10th goal midway through the third period proved to be the game-winner Saturday in Toronto's 4-3 victory over Pittsburgh.

Kessel added an assist, while Tim Connolly and Mikhail Grabovski also scored and chipped in with assists as the surprising Maple Leafs continued their hot start to the season, improving to 7-2-1.

Clarke MacArthur found the net and Jonas Gustavsson, filling in for injured goalie James Reimer, turned aside 34-of-37 shots for Toronto, which remained undefeated at home at 5-0-1.

Pittsburgh, meanwhile, saw its five-game winning streak snapped.

Evgeni Malkin had a goal and an assist, and Brent Johnson made 25 saves for the Penguins.
