DENVER, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Devan Dubnyk allowed only a third-period goal Friday and stopped 40 shots in boosting the Edmonton Oilers to their fourth straight victory, 3-1 over Colorado.

In the second night of back-to-back games, Dubnyk gave Nikolai Khabibulin a rest and evened his record at 2-2.

Cam Barker and Andy Sutton both scored their first goal of the season during the second period to give the Oilers the lead. Barker's goal came on the power play and Sutton tipped in a shot by Lennart Petrell.

Ryan O'Reilly scored Colorado's goal on the power play 5:42 into the third, but Shawn Horcoff tallied for Edmonton 27 seconds later.

Colorado dropped its second straight and has lost all three of its home games. The Avalanche are 6-1 on the road.

Semyon Varlamov made 16 saves in taking the loss.
