DETROIT, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford showed up for practice Wednesday, three days after he sprained an ankle in a game against the Atlanta Falcons.

While Stafford appeared to be moving without problems, he took it easy, the Detroit Free Press reported. He participated in running and stretching but avoided skeleton offensive drills.

Stafford sat out most of last season because of two separated shoulders, playing in only three games. The team has not announced who will start Sunday against the Denver Broncos, although Shaun Hill is the backup if Stafford does not play.

The Lions lost to the Falcons 23-16. Stafford sprained his ankle on the final offensive play.
