EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Bernard Berrian got the boot Tuesday and the team activated Stephen Burton from its practice squad to replace him.

Berrian, 30, had been inactive twice in the past three weeks and had just seven receptions for 91 yards in five games in which he did play.

Berrian had seven receptions for 91 yards in five games this season, and was inactive twice in the past three weeks.

Berrian's best season in his four years in Minnesota was 2008 when he had 48 receptions for 964 yards and seven scores in 13 games.

Burton was drafted out of West Texas A&M by the Vikings in the seventh round of this year's NFL draft.
