NHL: Colorado 5, Chicago 4 (SO)

CHICAGO, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Joakim Lindstrom's shootout goal proved to be the game-winner Saturday, boosting the Colorado Avalanche past Chicago 5-4.

Lindstrom's wrist shot elude Corey Crawford in the third round of the tiebreaker while Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov stopped Viktor Stalberg, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane in the shootout.

Gabriel Landeskog scored twice for Colorado -- including the score-tying goal with 1:48 left in regulation. Paul Stastny added a goal and an assist and David Jones also found the net for the victors.

Varlamov finished with 34 saves as Colorado improved to 6-0 on the road.

The Blackhawks got goals from Marian Hossa, Toews, Jamal Mayers and Michael Frolik in the loss.

Crawford finished with 20 saves.
