ARLINGTON, Texas, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Rookie DeMarco Murray set a Cowboys single-game rushing record with 253 yards on 25 carries Sunday and Dallas breezed to a 34-7 victory over St. Louis.

Murray's 91-yard touchdown run up the middle in the first quarter opened the game's scoring and sent him on his way into the Cowboys' record books. His 253 yards eclipsed Emmitt Smith's previous mark of 237 yards in a single game.

Tony Romo completed 14-of-24 passes for 166 yards with TD passes to Dez Bryant (nine catches, 90 yards) and Jason Witten as Dallas reached .500 (3-3).

The Rams, meanwhile, remained winless at 0-6.

A.J. Feeley, who filled in for an injured Sam Bradford, passed for 196 yards on 20-of-33 efficiency with an interception.
