

MOSCOW, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Defending champion Viktor Troicki was among four players earning quarterfinal berths Wednesday at the Kremlin Cup tennis tournament in Moscow.
Troicki, the No. 2 seed this week, defeated Pere Riba 6-4, 6-4. Troicki pounded out 11 aces and won more than 70 percent of the points on serve. He didn't lose serve in the match.
He'll next go against fifth-seeded Alex Bogomolov Jr., who was a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 winner over Mikhail Kukushkin in his second-round match Wednesday. It was the second lengthy three-set match in as many days for Bogomolov. He was able to save 12 of the 14 break-point chances for Kukushkin, with both breaks coming in the second set.
No. 4-seeded Nikolay Davydenko, who has won this event three times, defeated Teymuraz Gabashvili 7-5, 6-2 on the strength of five service breaks in 10 receiving games.
Michael Berrer ousted eighth-seeded Andreas Seppi 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in earning a quarterfinal match against Davydenko.
Also Wednesday, Julien Benneteau beat Evgeny Donskoy in the tournament's final first-round match.
