VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Henrik Lundqvist racked up 40 saves Tuesday to lead New York past Vancouver 4-0 for the Rangers' first win of the season.

It was the 36th shutout of Lundqvist's career and the first win in Vancouver for the Rangers since Oct. 11, 1997, when Wayne Gretzky scored a hat trick.

New York had goals from Mike Rupp, Ryan McDonagh, Brian Boyle and Marian Gaborik -- all in the third period.

Roberto Luongo faced 19 shots but was beaten four times. The Canucks, who were 0-or-8 on the power play, took their fourth loss in six games.
