NHL: Los Angeles 5, St. Louis 0

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Jonathan Quick stopped 27 shots and Simon Gagne scored a pair of goals Tuesday to lead the Los Angeles Kings to a 5-0 win over St. Louis.

Gagne also had an assist in the victory in the Kings' home opener, which snapped a seven-game losing streak against the Blues.

Jarret Stoll, Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar all had a goal and an assist for the Kings. Gagne opened the scoring at 7:20 of the first period and added the Kings' fifth goal at 6:29 of the third.

Jaroslav Halak stopped 14-of-18 shots or St. Louis before being lifted in favor of Brian Elliott. Elliott allowed one goal on six shots.

The loss dropped St. Louis to 1-3-0 on its four-game road trip.
