Vikings fullback Felton charged with DWI
SOUTHAMPTON, Bermuda, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Keegan Bradley managed only an even-par 71 Wednesday but it was good enough to hold off Charl Schwartzel for the PGA Grand Slam of Golf title.
Bradley, this year's PGA Champion, completed the two-day event at 4-under 138, one stroke better than Masters winner Schwartzel at the Port Royal Golf Course in Bermuda.
The pair, along with U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy and 2011 Open Champion Darren Clarke made up the field at the elite event.
Schwartzel birdied five in a row starting at the par-four No. 5 to pull even with Bradley at 2-under par and the two battled down the stretch. On the 18th, Schwartzel missed a 30-foot birdie try, leaving Bradley with a 5-foot par save for the victory.
McIlroy, who shared the first-round lead with Bradley, ballooned to a 4-over 75 Wednesday, ending in third place at even-par 142. Clarke carded a 3-over 74 to end at plus-9.
Bradley took home $600,000 for the win, Schwartzel pocketed $300,000, McIlroy was paid $250,000 and Clarke left with $200,000.
