OTTAWA, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Matt Read scored a goal and added three assists Tuesday, sparking the Philadelphia Flyers' 7-2 rout of Ottawa.

Read opened the scoring 6 minutes into the game and assisted on tallies by Wayne Simmonds and Max Talbot in the first period as well as a third-period marker by Sean Couturier for the Flyers.

Claude Giroux, Harrison Zolnierczyk and James van Riemsdyk also scored as Philadelphia remained undefeated to start the season at 4-0-1.

Sergei Bobrovsky made his first start of the year and turned aside 21-of 23 shots to earn the victory.

Ottawa's Alex Auld was lifted after the first period, during which he allowed four goals on 10 shots, and Craig Anderson went the rest of the way, stopping 17-of-20 shots.
