STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Bobby Ryan found the net during a shootout Saturday, handing the Anaheim Ducks a 2-1 victory over the New York Rangers in Stockholm.
Ryan got the only goal of the shootout after regulation play and an overtime period finished in a 1-1 draw.
The Ducks forward beat Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist with a shot between the legs, and Anaheim sealed the win when Artem Anisimov of New York missed on a last chance to extend the tiebreaker.
The Rangers forced extra time when Brad Richards notched his first goal with New York with less than 3 minutes remaining in regulation.
Andrew Cogiliano scored and Jonas Hiller turned aside 14-of-15 shots in the Ducks' win.
Lundqvist, a Sweden native, converted 27-of-28 save opportunities.
