KANSAS CITY, Kan., Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Greg Biffle won his second pole of the season Friday and will start out front Sunday in the Sprint Cup Hollywood Casino 400.
Biffle, seeking his third victory at the Kansas Speedway, turned a qualifying lap at 174.887 mph. He edged Roush Fenway Racing teammate Carl Edwards, who was clocked at 174.571 mph.
This will be the fourth of the 10 races that make up the Sprint Cup series chase for the championship. Edwards is tied for the lead in points with Carl Edwards -- 19 in front of Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch -- and Biffle is not part of the 12-driver chase.
Kyle Busch, who is eighth in points, qualified third. Matt Kenseth, currently seventh in the championship chase, will start fourth.
The rest of the Top 10 in qualifying were Kasey Kahne, Paul Menard, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex, Mark Martin and Jeff Gordon.
Stewart, who won the first two races in the chase to briefly climb into the No. 1 spot, will start 23rd.
