Vikings fullback Felton charged with DWI

KANSAS CITY, Kan., Sept. 28 (UPI) -- An own goal from Julius James in the second half Wednesday gave Sporting Kansas City a 2-1 win over Columbus and first place in the Eastern Conference.
Kansas City (11-9-11) moved two points in front of Houston and three ahead of Columbus for the conference lead.
Kei Kamara opened the scoring for Kansas City in the 15th minute on a penalty kick after C.J. Sapong was tripped by Chad Marshall. It was Kamara's ninth goal of the season.
Emilio Renteria tied it in the 35th minute by running onto a pass from Robbie Rogers.
James put the ball into his own net in the 74th minute off a throw-in by Matt Besler. Columbus (11-12-8) has lost three in a row and is winless in six straight matches.
