PHOENIX, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- A grand slam by Ryan Roberts in the bottom of the 10th inning Tuesday gave the Arizona Diamondbacks a 7-6 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Roberts' blast to left field with two outs capped a wild 10th in which the Dodgers scored five runs and the Diamondbacks answered with six to snag the win.
Arizona strung together two singles, a walk, an error and another walk to set the table for Roberts' heroics.
The game had been a pitchers' duel much of the night with both teams scoring a run in the seventh before heading into extra innings with the scored tied 1-1.
A.J. Ellis had two RBI and Matt Kemp drove in a run for Los Angeles.
Javy Guerra (2-2), the eighth pitcher used by the Dodgers Tuesday, took the loss and was charged with a blown save as well. Hiroki Kuroda allowed five hits and struck out five in a six-inning start.
Micah Owings (8-0) pitched the final inning and got the win despite being roughed up for five runs -- four earned -- on four hits.
