MLB: Chicago White Sox 2, Toronto 1

CHICAGO, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Mark Buehrle hurled seven scoreless innings Tuesday and the Chicago White Sox won their first game without ex-Manager Ozzie Guillen, a 2-1 over Toronto.

Buehrle (13-9) scattered six hits and didn't issue a walk while striking out six as the White Sox notched a victory under interim skipper Don Cooper.

Chris Sale tossed 1 2/3 frames of scoreless relief to pick up his eighth save for Chicago, which released Guillen from his contract Monday after eight years at the helm.

Flowers' solo shot in the second put Chicago ahead to stay at 1-0 and A.J. Pierzynski added an RBI single in the sixth.

Henderson Alvarez (1-3) absorbed the hard-luck loss for the Blue Jays, yielding two runs on seven hits over seven innings, walking none and striking out six.
