FRISCO, Texas, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Geoff Cameron's goal in the 87th minute Saturday sent the Houston Dynamo past FC Dallas 1-0.
Cameron scored after reaching Brad Davis' corner kick on the near side and heading it past Dallas goalie Kevin Hartman for his fifth goal this season.
It was Houston's first road win this season in 16 tries.
The Dynamo (10-9-12) leaped from fourth to first in the Eastern Conference standings, overtaking Columbus, Philadelphia and Kansas City in a single bound.
Dallas (13-10-7), sitting in fourth place in the Western Conference, has lost three in a row and has just one win in its last seven games.
Goalie Tally Hall was instrumental in keeping Houston in the match, making a few key saves in the first half, but also was aided by three shots by Maicon Santos, Jackson and George John that hit a goal post and the crossbar twice.
