ATLANTA, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Aaron Baddeley and Hunter Mahan shared the lead at 9-under-par 201 Saturday after three rounds of the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
Baddeley fired a 6-under 64 and Mahan, who clinched his spot on the U.S. Presidents Cup team last week, turned in a 4-under 66 to produce a tie at the top after 54 holes at East Lake.
Baddeley, seeking to become a captain's pick on the International team and ranked 14th on the points list, moved into the lead by himself with a 21-foot birdie on No. 15.
Mahan, however, poured in a 22-footer on the 18th to join him in the lead at minus-nine.
International team points leader Jason Day shot a 1-under 69 and finished the day tied for third with K.J. Choi (70) at minus-seven.
Bill Haas, who had been vying for the lead on the back nine, lost three strokes over the last two holes to finish with a 1-under 69 and end the day at 6-under 204.
Joining him there was world No. 1 Luke Donald, who posted a 70.
