HOUSTON, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Carlos Lee drove in four runs Thursday and Houston survived a 13-hit Colorado attack to down the Rockies 9-6.
Houston, which will finish with the worst record in the majors this year, took the lead for good in the third inning when Lee came through with a three-run double. He also had a sacrifice fly in the fifth, giving him a club-leading 90 RBI for the season.
Another three-run double in the seventh by Matt Downs gave the Astros an 8-3 lead and they withstood a three-run blast by Colorado's Wilin Rosario in the eighth.
Rookie Henry Sosa (3-5), obtained in a trade with San Francisco in July, worked five innings to get the victory. He gave up nine hits over 6 1/3, but limited the Rockies to three runs while striking out four.
Mark Melancon struck out two in the ninth for his 20th save.
Alex White (3-3) was touched for five runs on six hits in 4 2/3 to suffer the loss.
