Vernon Wells drove in three runs for the Angels with a sixth-inning single and an eighth-inning two run homer. Peter Bourjos had a solo homer in the fifth while Maicer Izturis had RBI singles in both the third and eighth.
Dustin McGowan (0-1), seeing his first action in two years late this season after undergoing two shoulder surgeries, took the loss. He gave up only two runs over five innings in just his fourth appearance of the season and third start.
