LOS ANGELES, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Clayton Kershaw won his 20th game of the season Tuesday, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 2-1 victory over San Francisco.
Kershaw (20-5) outdueled Giants ace Tim Lincecum (13-13) and became the first Dodgers hurler to win 20 games since Ramon Martinez in 1990.
Kershaw finished with one run on six hits and six strikeouts over 71/3 innings. Kenley Jansen and Javy Guerra finished up, with Guerra earning his 19th save.
Lincecum was sharp as well, allowing two runs on eight hits and five strikeouts over seven innings.
Jerry Sands homered and James Loney had an RBI single to account for the Dodgers' runs.
Chris Stewart drove in the only Giants' run with a solo homer in the seventh inning. San Francisco slipped to 4 1/2 games behind Atlanta in the National League wild-card hunt.
