MLB: Wash. 4, Phil. 3 (10 inn.) (1st game)

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Ryan Zimmerman hit a two-out, pinch-hit RBI single in the 10th inning Tuesday giving Washington a 4-3 win over Philadelphia in the first game of a doubleheader.

Nationals pinch-hitter Michael Morse worked reliever Michael Stutes (6-2) for the first walk by a Phillies pitcher in the game with two outs in the 10th. After a passed ball got Morse to second, Danny Espinosa was intentionally walked.

Zimmerman was called on to hit and came through with a flare into center field that allowed Morse to score.

Tom Gorzelanny (4-6), the fifth Nationals pitcher, got the win with an inning of one-hit, one-walk relief. Drew Storen, despite a single and an intentional walk, got his 39th save.

The game was scoreless until the seventh when Washington's Roger Bernadina and the Phillies' Raul Ibanez each hit three-run home runs.

Bernadina sent a drive off the facing of the second deck with two outs for his seventh homer of the season. Ibanez hit his 20th after Peter Orr and Michael Martinez led off the Philadelphia seventh with singles.
