SEOUL, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Fourth-seeded Dominika Cibulkova took a lengthy straight-set victory Monday in first-round play at the Korea Open tennis tournament in Seoul.

Cibulkova, who was given a wild-card entry into the event, needed nearly two hours to finish off a 6-3, 7-5 win over Arantxa Parra Santonja.

Neither player landed even half her first serves but Cibulkova kept Parra Santonja on the ropes with 20 break-point chances, converting six of them. Cibulkova dropped serve four times herself.

Also on Monday's schedule, Alexandra Dulgheru rallied for a 2-6, 6-0, 7-5 win over Arantxa Rus and Klara Zakopalova was a 6-3, 6-4 winner over Ayumi Morita.

Dulgheru won half the points when receiving serve and dropped serve just once in the last two sets. Zakopalova wound up with seven breaks over Morita's 10 service games.

The Korea Open field includes two Top 10 players, including top-seeded Francesca Schiavone, who is No. 8 in the world, and 10th-ranked Marion Bartoli.
