DENVER, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Pablo Sandoval homered twice in the same big inning for San Francisco Sunday and the Giants rode six long balls to a 12-5 rout of Colorado.
The Giants scored eight times in the fourth inning to put the game away and complete their first four-game sweep at Coors Field since 2002 while extending their winning streak to a season-best eight games.
Mike Fontenot and Matt Cain each delivered two-run shots. Brandon Belt and Brandon Crawford contributed bases-empty homers for the Giants, who remained five games behind National League West-leading Arizona.
Cain (12-10) went five innings to earn the victory, yielding five runs (three earned) on five hits and four walks. He recorded three strikeouts.
Colorado's Esmil Rogers (6-6) was pounded for nine runs on seven hits before exiting after 3 2/3 innings.
