MLB: Houston 3, Chicago Cubs 2

CHICAGO, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Clint Barmes drove in two runs with a first-inning single Sunday and the Houston Astros parlayed his production into a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs.

J.D. Martinez also drove in a run for the Astros, who took the finale of a three-game series at Wrigley Field.

Brett Myers (6-13) earned the victory -- his third in three starts. He yielded only one earned run on seven hits with one walk and five strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.

Ryan Dempster (10-13) was saddled with his fifth straight losing decision, surrendering three runs on seven hits over seven frames.

Aramis Ramirez and Bryan LaHair delivered RBI for the Cubs.
