TORONTO, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Curtis Granderson socked a go-ahead homer and Mariano Rivera tied a saves record Saturday in the New York Yankees' 7-6 comeback win over Toronto.

The Yankees trailed 6-1 after two innings but stormed back to score the next six runs and grab control of the contest.

New York plated four in the sixth inning, highlighted by a three-run homer from Alex Rodriguez.

Then in the seventh, Derek Jeter led off with an infield single and Granderson followed with his 40th long ball of the year off Carlos Villanueva (6-4), giving the American League East-leading Yankees the lead.

New York's bullpen tossed five innings of shutout ball, with Aaron Laffey (3-2) collecting the win and Rivera hurling a scoreless ninth for his 42nd save of the year and 601st of his career, tying him with Trevor Hoffman atop the all-time list.

Mike McCoy drove in three runs and Colby Rasmus went 2-for-4 with an RBI double for the Blue Jays.
