QUEBEC CITY, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Marina Erakovic and Barbora Zahlavova Strycova, neither of whom has ever won a WTA title, advanced to the finals Saturday at the Bell Challenge in Canada.
Erakovic earned a spot in her first title match with a 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 victory over third-seeded Tamira Paszek. That victory came 24 hours after Erakovic had stunned the tournament's No. 1 seed, Daniela Hantuchova.
Zahlavova Strycova moved into the finals by downing Michaelia Krajicek 6-4, 6-3. It will be the second career final for Zahlavova Strycova, who played for the championship and lost in Prague last year.
It will be the first career meeting for the two finalists.
