Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

MILWAUKEE, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Ryan Braun hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the 11th inning Tuesday that gave the Milwaukee Brewers a 2-1 win over Colorado.
Braun worked a full count before launching the 10th pitch of the at-bat from Matt Lindstrom (2-2) over the wall in left-center field.
The win ended a five-game losing streak for the Brewers, who remained 6 1/2 games ahead of second-place St. Louis in the National League Central.
Prince Fielder also homered for the Brewers, who only managed six hits in the game.
Kameron Loe (4-7) was credited with the win after silencing the Rockies in the top half of the 11th.
Willin Rosario drove in Colorado's only run with a double in the fourth inning.
