
TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Top-seeded Ksenia Pervak advanced out of the first round but two seeded players fell Tuesday at the Tashkent Open tennis tournament in Uzbekistan.
Pervak got past Galina Voskoboeva 6-2, 7-5 without facing a break point. She dropped just 10 points over 10 service games.
Defending champion Alla Kudryavtseva, seeded sixth this year, advanced by an identical score in defeating Vesna Dolonts 6-2, 7-5 behind six service breaks. And fifth-seeded Magdalena Rybarikova survived a nearly 3-hour battle with Nigina Abduraimova 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 6-3.
However, No. 3-seeded Pauline Parmentier was ousted by Eleni Daniilidou 7-5, 6-1 and eighth-seeded Aravane Rezai was beaten by home-standing Akgul Amanmuradova 6-4, 6-3. They join No. 2-seeded Bojana Jovanovski, who was upset in Monday's play, on the sidelines.
Other first-round winners Tuesday were Victoria Larriere, Urszula Radwanska, Eva Birnerova, Aleksandra Krunic and Uzbek player Sabina Sharipova.
