BOSTON, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Dustin Pedroia went 4-for-5 with two homers, driving in five runs, and the Boston Red Sox banged out 18 hits Tuesday in their 18-6 rout of Toronto.

Pedroia scored four times, and Jerrod Saltalamacchia knocked in four runs with a bases-clearing double and an RBI single for the Red Sox, who posted a seven-run eighth inning to cap their offensive onslaught.

Jacoby Ellsbury also went 4-for-5 with four runs scored, adding three RBI -- including a solo homer -- as Boston snapped a five-game losing streak and extended its American League wild card lead over Tampa Bay to four games.

Knuckleballer Tim Wakefield (7-6) finally earned his 200th career victory in his ninth try despite surrendering five runs on six hits over six innings.

Toronto's Brendan Morrow (9-11), meanwhile, was blasted for seven runs (five earned) on seven hits over 5 1/3 frames.

J.P. Arencibia clouted a three-run homer and Jose Bautista added his 43rd round-tripper and drove in two runs for 100 RBI for the Blue Jays.
