LONDON, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Martin Kaymer fell three spots in the men's golf Top 10 following an unsuccessful defense of the title of the European Tour's KLM Open.
Kaymer won the event in 2010 but ended up tied for 101st this year and that drops him from third to sixth in the world rankings.
Simon Dyson won the event -- half of his six career European Tour wins have been at the KLM -- and jumps from 55th to No. 28 in the rankings.
Luke Donald is still atop the rankings with a points average of 10.476, with Lee Westwood, who was fifth at the KLM Open, second at 8.214.
Kaymer's slip allows three golfers to each improve their rankings by one spot. Rory McIlroy is third with an average of 7.086, followed by Steve Stricker (6.905) and Dustin Johnson (6.805). Kaymer's average is 6.772.
Jason Day (6.174) is seventh but Matt Kuchar (5.859) edges past Phil Mickelson (5.850) for eighth and Adam Scott (5.758) remains No. 10.
