JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Maurice Jones-Drew scored a first-quarter touchdown Sunday, boosting Jacksonville to a 16-14 win over Tennessee in the season opener for both teams.

Jones-Drew (97 yards and 27 carries) scored on a 21-yard run to put the Jaguars (1-0) ahead 7-0 and Jacksonville never surrendered the lead.

Luke McCown made his first start since 2007, replacing the departed David Garrard, and completed 17-of-24 passes for 175 yards.

The Titans (0-1) got a 21-for-34 performance from Matt Hasselbeck in his first game as Tennessee's quarterback. He tossed for 263 yards and two scores, but was intercepted in the final minute to end a comeback try.

Kenny Britt made five grabs for 136 yards and two touchdowns as Mike Munchak absorbed a loss in his first game at the Titans' new head coach.
