PHOENIX, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Lyle Overbay drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 10th inning Saturday, capping an Arizona Diamondbacks rally for a 6-5 win over San Diego,
The D-backs trailed 5-3 heading into the ninth but scored clutch runs on back-to-back solo homers from Chris Young and Overbay.
Then in the 10th, Arizona loaded the bases with one out off Brad Brach (0-1). After Young struck out, Joe Thatcher came in to pitch and issued a game winning walk to Overbay (3-for-4, three RBI).
David Hernandez (4-3) earned the victory as the National League West leading D-backs extended their home winning streak to a franchise-record 15 games.
James Darnell socked his first major-league homer, a three-run shot in the sixth inning for the Padres.
