RICHMOND, Va., Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Kevin Harvick took his fourth win of 2011 and Kyle Busch captured the first seed in the championship Chase in Saturday's Sprint Cup event at Richmond, Va.
Harvick grabbed the lead after beating Jeff Gordon out of the pits during a late-race caution and fought off Carl Edwards down the stretch to take the regular-season finale at Richmond.
The victory gave Harvick the second seed in the Chase. Busch claimed the top seed with a sixth-place finish Saturday.
Busch earned the top spot thanks to his four wins and having a higher points finish than Harvick after the 26th race of the season.
Also clinching spots in the 12-driver Chase were Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Denny Hamlin.
Brad Keselowski finished 12th Saturday, claiming the first wild card spot.
