
SEATTLE, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Miguel Olivo had a double, triple and home run Friday, scoring three times and driving in two runs in leading Seattle to a 7-3 win over Kansas City.
The Mariners won for the third time in four games after having lost five in a row.
After Kansas City scored twice in the first inning, Seattle tied it in the bottom half, with Olivo driving in one of the runs on a ground-rule double.
Ichiro Suzuki and Olivo hit solo homers in the third to put the Mariners in front. Olivo tripled and scored in the fifth on a single by Justin Smoak.
Blake Beavan (4-5) won for the first time since Aug. 6, giving up three runs on nine hits in 6 2/3 innings.
Jeff Francis (5-16) was saddled with the loss after allowing five runs on nine hits in just 3 1/3.
The Royals dropped their third straight.
