NEW YORK, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Justin Turner's two-out drive to deep center drove in Jason Pridie from second in the ninth Friday, giving the New York Mets a 5-4 win over the Chicago Cubs.

The Cubs let an early 3-0 lead get away and then came back to tie it in the top of the ninth on a two-out, RBI single by Darwin Barney.

Chicago reliever Sean Marshall (6-6) could not get the game into extra innings, however, giving up the long blast that was ruled as a single.

Nick Evans opened the bottom of the ninth with a base hit and gave way to Pridie as a pinch-runner. Josh Thole sacrificed Pridie to second, after which Ruben Tejada lined out to second. Jose Reyes was walked intentionally to get to Turner, who produced his game-winning hit on a 1-0 pitch.

Manny Acosta (3-1) got the win despite blowing a save chance in the ninth.

Carlos Pena hit a two-run homer for the Cubs in the third and Chicago added to its lead when Bryan LaHair tripled in a run in the fourth.

The Mets tied it with a three-run fourth that featured an RBI double from Jayson Bay and then went in front in the fifth when Turner doubled home Reyes.
