WASHINGTON, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Rod Barajas hit a go-ahead RBI double in the eighth inning Tuesday and the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied for a 7-3 victory over Washington.

The Dodgers were down 3-0 after being shut out for five innings by the Nationals' Stephen Strasburg in his first major league start since returning from elbow surgery.

Andre Ethier (2-for-5, four RBI) delivered a game-tying two-run single in the sixth, capping a three-run rally off the Nationals' bullpen. Then with two on and two out in the eighth, Barajas laced an 0-1 pitch from Henry Rodriguez (3-3) into the left-field corner, scoring Ethier and Aaron Miles with the go-ahead runs.

Kenley Jansen (2-1) earned the victory with a scoreless seventh inning in relief for the Dodgers, who evened a four-game series against Washington at one win apiece.

Strasburg pitched well in his much-anticipated return from Tommy John surgery, making his first start in more than year. The right-hander allowed only two hits, walked none and fanned four.

Wilson Ramos and Jayson Werth drove in runs for Washington.
