NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- The New Orleans Saints said Monday they have given Coach Sean Payton a new contract that will keep him on board through the 2015 season.

The NFL club didn't say how much Payton will make.

"I am very pleased to announce this contract extension today for Sean that will run through the 2015 season," Saints owner Tom Benson said in a statement. "Our goal is to continue to build a tradition of winning here in New Orleans and Sean represents that tradition."

Payton, 47, has produced a 49-31 record with two division titles and a Super Bowl championship since joining the Saints in 2006.
