Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

KANSAS CITY, Kan., Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Omar Bravo scored on a penalty kick in the 90th minute Monday, lifting Sporting Kansas City into a 2-2 tie with the Los Angeles Galaxy.
A cross from Julio Cesar went into the penalty area and nipped the arm of Galaxy defender Frankie Hejduk, drawing a whistle. Bravo made Los Angeles pay by burying the spot kick to claim a point for Sporting.
Cesar scored in the 72nd minute to pull Kansas City (9-8-10) into a 1-1 tie but Sean Franklin tallied the second of his two goals 2 minutes later, putting the Galaxy (14-3-9) back on top 2-1.
Los Angeles was playing its first MLS game since Aug. 20 -- the Galaxy's previous game against New York was postponed due to Hurricane Irene.
