NORTON, Mass., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Bubba Watson blew a two-stroke lead but birdied the 17th hole Sunday to hang on to a one-shot advantage after three rounds of the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Watson contended with a troublesome back nine but managed to post a 1-under-par 70, completing 54 holes at the TPC Boston at 11-under 202.
The left-hander, who shared the second-round lead with Adam Scott and Charl Schwartzel, will seek his fourth PGA title Monday but will have to contend with a logjam of competitors just behind him.
Jason Day and Brendan Steele each a fired rounds of 4-under 67, moving into a second-place tie with Scott (71), Jerry Kelly (68) and Chez Reavie (68) at minus-10.
One shot further back at 9-under 204 were last year's FedExCup champ Jim Furyk (66), Schwartzel (72), world No. 1 Luke Donald, Webb Simpson (67) and Gary Woodland (66).
