MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- NHL all-star Dustin Byfuglien was arrested on Lake Minnetonka on suspicion of boating while intoxicated, Minnesota authorities said.
The Hennepin County Sheriff's office said Byfuglien, a Minnesota native, was arrested on Lower Lake South in Excelsior Wednesday evening and refused to take a blood or urine test, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported.
Byfuglien, 26, was booked into the Hennepin County Jail then released about three hours later.
Byfuglien, a defenseman for the Winnipeg Jets, skated at a camp Thursday in a Minneapolis suburb with other local NHL players to get ready for the season, his agent said.
Agent Ben Hankinson said he could not comment on the arrest.
"It's going to sort out, though, and everything will be fine," he said.
Byfuglien rents a house in Spring Park on the west side of Lake Minnetonka, Hankinson said, and "he loves to fish. He's on the water fishing every day."
Byfuglien has played 341 games in his NHL career, tallying 75 goals and 87 assists.
