
HOUSTON, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- J.D. Martinez drove in three runs and the Houston Astros scored six times in the sixth inning Tuesday to post an 8-2 victory over Pittsburgh.
Martinez's two-run single highlighted the big frame and he added another run-scoring hit in the next inning for the Astros, who clinched their three-game series with the Pirates.
Jose Altuve knocked in a pair with a solo homer and a single and scored twice for Astros.
Henry Sosa (2-2) earned the victory for Houston, allowing one run on only two hits over six frames. The right-hander won his second straight decision while walking one and striking out seven.
Bucs starter Charlie Morton (9-8) was touched for four runs on six hits in a 5 1/3-inning start, walking four and fanning eight.
Andrew McCutchen socked a solo homer for Pittsburgh.
