DETROIT, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Two of Matthew Stafford's 12 pass completions went for touchdowns Saturday in the Detroit Lions' 34-10 pre-season waltz over New England.

Detroit increased its advantage to 17-3 when Stafford found Tony Scheffler for a 22-yard TD in the second quarter.
New England's Tom Brady lobbed a 44-yard TD pass to Wes Welker, pulling the Pats to within 17-10, but the Lions scored 10 more points before the half to put the contest away.
