SEATTLE, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Tyler Flowers belted a grand slam and Dayan Viciedo added a three-run shot for Chicago Sunday, powering the White Sox's 9-3 pounding of Seattle.
Flowers' bases-loaded homer highlighted a six-run sixth inning for the Chisox, who also got RBI singles from Brent Lillibridge and Paul Konerko (3-for-4) during the big rally.
Chicago banged out 13 hits while completing a three-game series sweep -- their first in Seattle since 1994 -- and bested the M's for the 16th time in 19 contests.
Gavin Floyd (12-10) logged a win in his third straight start, yielding two runs on five hits over 7 1/3 frames. He didn't issue a walk and struck out six.
Seattle's Jason Vargas (7-12), meanwhile, was roughed up for nine runs on 10 hits in just 5 2/3 innings.
Josh Bard socked a two-run homer for the Mariners.
